Non ha bisogno di presentazioni il concerto sinfonico-corale che avrà luogo al Duomo di Monreale domenica 24 ottobre, alle ore 21. Non sul piano del contenuto, perché propone un capolavoro tra i più amati della musica sacra di tutti i tempi, né sul versante degli interpreti, tutti di chiara fama, e tanto meno riguardo alle blasonate formazioni schierate.
L’esecuzione del possente “Requiem” verdiano rappresenta perciò uno dei momenti più importanti della Settimana Internazionale di Musica Sacra, organizzata dalla Fondazione Orchestra Sinfonica Siciliana con il supporto della Regione Siciliana e in sinergia con il Comune e l’Arcidiocesi. Lo conferma il ricco e variegato cartellone firmato dalla direttrice artistica Gianna Fratta, che – così come ha assicurato la partecipazione di ensemble e artisti di fama mondiale, quali Ton Koopman, Fabio Biondi, Federico Maria Sardelli, prr non citarne che alcuni – ha impaginato in grande stile anche l’odierna esecuzione della Messa di Requiem composta da Giuseppe Verdi nel 1874, per onorare la memoria di Alessandro Manzoni. L’Orchestra Sinfonica Siciliana e il Coro del Teatro Massimo di Palermo, quest’ultimo sapientemente istruito da Ciro Visco, si fonderanno sotto la prestigiosa bacchetta di Nicola Luisotti, tra i maggiori direttori d’orchestra del panorama musicale internazionale. E quattro solisti di chiara fama – il soprano Ailyn Perez, il mezzosoprano Silvia Beltrami, il tenore Matthew Polenzani, il basso John Relyea – interverranno a completare un cast di all stars, come si conviene all’imponente partitura, costruita attorno al coinvolgente “Dies irae”, vero e proprio nucleo centrale formato da ben dieci sezioni.La sesta giornata della Settimana presenta altri due appuntamenti, a cominciare dalla performance del violoncellista Enrico Corli, annunciata in mattinata per le ore 11 nella Chiesa di San Giuseppe. Il concerto – che presenta brani di Domenico Gabrielli, Johann Sebastian Bach e Giovanni Sollima – si basa sul concetto di “scordatura”, in quanto l’esecutore abbasserà o alzerà, in base a quanto richiesto dal compositore, una corda del suo violoncello. Sono stati composti moltissimi brani con la scordatura, ma la scelta di questo programma rimane in un ambito barocco che ben si sposa con la Settimana di Monreale. E si conclude con un omaggio barocco ad uno dei più grandi violoncellisti del nostro tempo, nonché siciliano.
“Fioriture barocche riflesse nel XX secolo” è infine il titolo del recital proposto dal Duo Inverso, formato da Salvatore Magazzù (tromba) e Mauro Visconti (organo), che si esibiranno alle 17 nella Chiesa della Collegiata in pagine di autori di diverse epoche, dal Seicento di Giovanni Buonaventura Viviani al Secolo breve del marsigliese Henri Tomasi, fino alla Sonata per organo dello stesso Visconti.Ingresso gratuito a tutti gli eventi previa prenotazione su https://www.eventbrite.it/d/italy–monreale/63%5E-settimana-musica-sacra/?page=1 con esibizione del green pass.
