Sabato e domenica, grazie al festival Le vie dei tesori saranno aperti ben dieci siti monumentali che orgogliosamente si impegnano a dimostrare che la storia di Monreale ruota tutta intorno al maestoso Duomo, ma non si esaurisce con i mosaici bizantini: ed ecco non solo chiese colme di sorprendenti ricchezze artistiche, ma anche biblioteche ricche di migliaia di preziosi incunaboli e cinquecentine. Il programma del festival è completato da escursioni come quella al Castellaccio (la domenica pomeriggio, con incluso un concerto in loco) o “esperienze” come quella all’antico forno Litria (il sabato pomeriggio, per vedere come nasce il famoso pane di Monreale). Sabato 25, alle ore 21 si terrà lo spettacolo dei pupi siciliani “Le avventure di Ruggiero d’Africa” e le farsette comiche del teatro popolare di ‘Nofrio e Virticchio, della Compagnia Brigliadoro del maestro puparo Salvatore Bumbello, presso l’atrio del Collegio di Maria; domenica 26, dalle 17.00 alle 21.00, musicanti e giocolieri per le strade della città; sempre domenica 26, alle ore 18.30, al Collegio di Maria ci sarà la presentazione del libro di Letizia Tomasino La regia trazzera e la tranvia di Monreale.
